About my area

The properties of my portfolio are situated in the Charente, especially around Angoulême and in Ruelle-sur-Touvre. The Charente, known for its landscapes, small villages, wines and sunflowers, offers a pleasant climate and easy access to the airports Limoges, Bordeaux, or Poitiers, but also to Paris with a TGV station in Angoulême. The beautiful town of Angoulême with its old buildings, streets and cathedrals is wellknown in France for its annual "festival de la bande-dessinée" (a comic-festival) and "circuit des remparts"(an old car race). In the old part of the town, there are a lot of cosy restaurants, bars and terraces. Ruelle-sur-Touvre is a smaller town located a few kilometers from Angoulême, offering all services, schools, shops , good restaurants and a nice bi-weekly market, but also pleasant areas along the river Touvre where you can go fishing or canoeing. Even without a car, there is possibility to go to Angoulême by bus, and, from the train station of Ruelle-sur-Touvre, there is also access to Angouleme (5 minutes) or Limoges (2 hours).

About me

I'm dutch and have been living in France for over 30 years now. I've always lived in the Charente and enjoy the climate and the situation of this departement. You can easely plan a trip for day or a week-end: in a few hours, you've acces to the sea (Royan 1h30), the mountains (massif central 4h), or Paris (2h with the coming soon LGV line!). I've been living in Ruelle-sur-Touvre for fourteen years with my husband and three children, and it was a perfect place for a family life. We lived there in a quiet street with all the aminities, schools and market on walking distance, but also peaceful places by the riverside. We recently moved to Magnac-Lavalette because our dream was to renovate an old barn and we found one overthere. We did the whole renovation by ourselves so it took a few years... but now it's done, and we enjoy this new "country-life" between the sunflowerfields.
