About my area

The heart of the Poitou-Charentes region, at the intersection of Deux-Sèvres, Charente and Charente Maritime, combines the best of these departments. This unspoiled green region, displays the tranquillity where many people are looking for. The landscape entails extensive forests and rolling hills of sunflowers, corn and grains, interspersed with rivers and hidden lakes. But of course there are also lots of charming little villages with fine examples of Roman architecture, attractive local markets and excellent family restaurants. The larger cities of La Rochelle, Cognac, Angouleme, Saint-Jean d'Angély, Melle, Niort and Saintes are all within easy reach. The rural population is friendly and welcoming. The climate is mild and sunny and the house prices are surprisingly low in this undiscovered region, inviting you to settle down and enjoy life!

About me

My husband and I were enchanted by this lovely environment and we moved from The Netherlands to Poitou-Charentes with our three children. We live in an old farmhouse and are happy to renovate the old property according to our modern wishes but with respect to its past. During my own search to find a house that met our criteria, I noticed how important it was having a dedicated, trustworthy person in the area, who assists during the whole process .
