This gorgeous country house is located in the beautiful Béarn, between the mountains and the sea. The property is hugely convenient for people working in and around Lourdes (20 - 25 minutes), Pau and Tarbes (both 30 - 35 minutes) - and Tarbes-Lourdes-Pyrénées airport is just 20 minutes away. The closest TGV station is 10 minutes away.

If you love skiing, surfing and water sports, there are ski resorts in the Pyrénées just 45 - 60 minutes away - and Atlantic beaches 90 minutes to the west. Closer to home, there are rivers for white-water rafting and canoeing, or you can visit several leisure lakes with swimming and beaches, as well as exciting water sports!

THE LOCAL AREA

This lovely country house is in a charming Béarnais village, not far from Pau and Lourdes (25 minutes). The village has boulangeries and other small shops, along with a doctor's surgery, a pharmacy and several bars and restaurants. The nearby town of Nay also has a great choice of amenities, shops, bars and restaurants - and you can buy delicious fresh produce all year round from local farmers’ markets.

There are schools for younger children in the village - and both Nay and Pau have excellent collège-lycées, which offer a range of study options (some in English), as well as the chance to specialise in theatre, dance, sports… and even horse-riding! In addition, The International School of Béarn in Pau, which follows the English national curriculum, is just 25 minutes away and awards UK qualifications.

The Pyrénées National Park is to the south of the property and extends 100km through the mountains that border France and Spain. There are many amazing hiking, cycling and horse-riding trails to follow, as well as lakes, waterfalls and the famous Cirque de Gavarnie to discover!
