It is set out on several levels, so not ideal for anyone with an infirmity and consists of a large living room, accessed via steps from the roadside entrance, which has a wooden floor, white painted beams, exposed stone walls and a bespoke wooden fireplace, ideal for the addition of a pellet wood-burner. There is also a shower room, a corridor with view of the chateau and river and a bedroom enjoying the same view.
On the first floor one is a large bedroom, with exposed roof beams and a separate wc.
On the lower level, there is a cellar, which used to be the main living quarters before the bridge was rebuilt, a laundry and a newly created office space.

Outside there is a lovely patio with bbq and access to the river. There is also a separate veg plot with hard standing area.

It sits in a delightful and popular village in the southern part of the Loire valley, only around 10km from the birthplace of the philosopher Descartes, the now eponymous town has a museum dedicated to his memory and it also has all amenities. Easy to reach from the UK being only around 25km from the the TGV station and A10 motorway at Chatellerault where you can get to Paris in about 1h20m. Only 67km from the airport at Poitiers with direct Ryanair flights to the UK, and about the same distance from Tours airport and only around 3hrs drive from the major western ferry ports.
