The Périgord Noir region of the Dordogne is often considered to be the most beautiful of the four Périgords. The Périgord noir is rich in tourist sites : medieval villages and castles, troglodyte sites and prehistoric sites in the Valley of Man (Vézère and Lascaux) The Périgord is full of treasures that you will never stop discovering. My area roughly spans ca. 20 kilometres around Montignac, and beyond! Whether for a second home or a permanent residence, we are extremely well situated with access to the East/West A89 motorway or the North/South A20, taking you easily to Bergerac, Limoges, Brive and further on Bordeaux and Toulouse international airports. The Périgord Noir is famous for its beautiful countryside, pretty villages, local markets, stunning château's and prehistoric caves. The region is rich in local produce including truffles, foie gras, duck and goose, walnuts and escargot!
Being for years founder and owner of a successful Swiss made watch brand we decided a few years ago to make our next move and emigrate to our beloved region of France the Dordogne to start a new life. After a long search, we were finally lucky to find a beautiful traditional farmhouse up on a hill , right on the edge of two small beautiful villages, Saint- Léon-Sur-Vézère and Thonac. This enables us to live the secluded life of rural France, but with easy access to the local places of Montignac and Sarlat plus the vibrant city of Perigeux. We have it all, the small villages with the bar and depot de pain, the towns with their weekly markets selling a vast array of goods and the larger towns for more regular shopping. Whilst we were used to living the rural life at our previous home, life in France just seems so much better. We feel privileged living here. In our short time here we have met some amazing people and for sure our quality of life has improved so much. Definitely a no-regrets move and we are so looking forward to whatever lays ahead in our new homeland. During our own search to find a house that met our criteria, I noticed how important it was having a dedicated, trustworthy person in the area, who assists during the whole process. This is how I aim to help you on your search for the house of your dreams.
