About me

In October 2001 I made France my home together with my wife Hanneke and our Scottish Deerhound "Skye". At that time I was working as a professional photographer, so the landscape and beautiful villages were a delight for me. We stayed with friends in their lovely château in the Puy de Dôme whilst we looked at many properties and eventually we found an old stone farmhouse near Sauxillanges which needed some renovation. About my area

The area I cover is the Allier which shares its name with the wild river that crosses its landscapes. It offers a mosaic of contrasted and captivating landscapes such as the ancient trees in the superb Tronçais oak forest and the 'Bocage Bourbonnais' which are preserved sites of natural beauty. We stayed with friends in their lovely château in the Puy de Dôme whilst we looked at many properties and eventually we found an old stone farmhouse near Sauxillanges which needed some renovation. After 4 years we decided to move on to a bigger farmhouse with a beautiful walled garden in the Livradois-Forez where we started our next restoration project. In 2014 we moved again selling our completely renovated house, this time further north to the rolling hills of the Bocage Borbonnais, to one of France's least populated areas full of old villages and friendly French folk, lots of walks, culture, good eating and relaxation. I would strongly recommend it. So our experiences of restoring French houses, also the rules and regulations of acquiring and selling, coupled with my photographic expertise led me to the doors of Leggett Immobilier. close

The AOC wines of Saint-Pourçain, Charolais beef and Bourbonnais chicken, the famous potato pie and Charroux mustard are just some of the 'ambassador' products to try in its many great restaurants. close
