In just a few words, I see myself as a down-to-earth Earthling; moved around the world, explored many places, and constantly connecting with people. Deep in my heart and soul, I was searching a dream place. My two final choices were either Namibia or the Nouvelle Aquitaine! When I discovered this wonderful region in 2018, I knew this was it. I was fortunate to find a lovely home with a magical flora diversity and a balanced ecosystem. Moreover, the genuine Périgourdins are very warm-hearted with an open house hospitality. The local proverb says, “When a dog passes, we give him a piece of bread.” I can honestly say that this quality of life is fabulous and serene. It is an ideal part of France for living a stress-free life and enjoying the natural environment. What else can I ask for more? Situated in the Périgueux-Bergerac-Sarlat triangle (about 35kms from each town), the area is also at the crossroads of 3 of the 4 Périgords: the Périgord Noir, the Périgord Pourpre and the Périgord Blanc. Its smooth rolling and natural scenic landscapes are spectacular with the Dordogne and the Vézère Rivers known for their meandering bends and loops. Its astoundingly beautiful villages with picturesque market towns and the fun summer festivals offer a wonderful lifestyle. Countless villages are listed as one of the “Most Beautiful Villages of France”. Its famed historical sites and medieval cultural settings ignite one’s adventurous curiosity; for example, the cradle of “La Vallée de l’Homme” (Valley of mankind) featuring the Cro-Magnon, the Neanderthal to the Middle Ages and so on. There is an abundance of outdoor activities for all ages in an exquisite ecosystem and geology. Last but not least, in the heart of the Périgord land of bon-vivre and gastronomy, one can find locally grown seasonal products.
