The Lot-et-Garonne with its encapsulating, undulating landscapes, much like the Hills of Surrey in England. But without the hustle and bustle of busy road networks and infrastructure. This department is situated in the South West of France and is surrounded by the departments of Lot, Tarn-et-Garonne, Gers, Landes, Gironde and the Dordogne. The north of the department is composed of limestone hills. Not forgetting the charming markets which are to be found all over the Lot-et-Garonne, generally held in the Bastide villages (Medieval Fortified Villages) with their rich home grown or home reared produce, fine wines and cheeses. There are many of these Beaux Villages dotted all around this region and every summer they have festivals which are full of life and fun. In the Autumn and Winter, the bars, cafés and restaurants are brimming with the locals and visitors. Because of the enjoyment of the long summer, it enables the predominant Bio farming industry to grow beautiful fruits such as kiwi’s, peaches and coffee. Also, prunes are a particular delicacy here in the Lot-et-Garonne. The summers are long and the wintertime doesn’t really start until January here. Albeit short winter, it can get cold with the odd snow flurry and the haw frosts but it’s nice because it makes a change to get cosy by a log fire and rug up a little. Discover life, discover harmony, discover purpose in the Lot-et-Garonne.
I am Deborah Cherry. I came from Kent in the U.K. Ever since I was little (well in fact I still am little on account I didn’t grow too much) I always had a love for France, like so many people in the Globe. My love still remains. I loved, as a child and still do love, open space with the addition to peace and tranquillity, good food and fine wines, and a quality of life which France will always give to those who are willing to discover it. I have five dogs, two horses, and a parrot. We all live here happily in the Lot-et-Garonne. I moved to the Lot-et-Garonne with my family to run a business within our property which is moving forward successfully. I also recently became an estate agent for Leggett, because I want to extend my knowledge and experience of real estate with the world and help them to also find their happiness and dream home here in France.
