THE TOWN & RESORT
Sitting at the heart of the Domaine Evasion Mont-Blanc, the 3rd largest ski area in France with 445 km of piste, 5 snow parks including the slopes of Megève, Les Contamines and Combloux as well as Saint Gervais les Bains itself. In addition to the first-class skiing facilities, there are plenty of opportunities to make the most of the beautiful alpine scenery and wide-open spaces whatever the season. Saint Gervais is a genuine year round market town with its spa and is an excellent base for walking, mountaineering, canyoning, mountain-biking and other outdoor activities. The town has several great tennis courts and the golf courses at Chamonix and Megève are within 'easy driving range'.
With a new 5 star hotel and another 4 star hotel which has just opened this year, two Michelin rated restaurants and a host of other bars, cafes and restaurants to pick from it’s easy to see why Saint Gervais les Bains is Leggett's biggest selling town in France since 2015. Saint Gervais retains a great French atmosphere and there are no UK tour operators bringing the mass market here.
The nearby Tramway du Mont Blanc is a 100 year old rack and pinion railway which will take you towards many walks and there are numerous mountain huts to stay overnight for the more adventurous.
