This is a rare find. A traditional town house with plenty of French style, and tremendous views from both floors of the Creuse and the historic old town beyond. Enjoy views of the 12th century Château-Naillac, the Eglise Saint-Cyran and many ancient properties on the south bank. Currently divided into two apartments, the property sits within an historic quarter on the north side with a small public garden to the front and parking around the corner. Shops, cafes. banks, garage, schools, sports facilities etc and the twice-weekly market are all a few steps away. Both apartments share a very sunny stone-paved courtyard, from which a wooden staircase ascends to the upper apartment. The door to join this into the ground floor corridor could be easily reinstated to re-create a single residence if desired.

The property is entered through double gates with attractive old French ironwork. Inside is the courtyard which is entirely private and not overlooked. French doors lead to the light verandah space and on to the double-aspect salon/dining room with exposed beams, tiled floor and a wood burning stove. To the left, a corridor leading to a fitted kitchen with gas hob, appliances and a recent hot water heater. The doorway that previously led to the stairs to the 1st floor is opposite the kitchen, and could be easily unblocked. A bathroom, separate WC and second bedroom with mezzanine level complete the ground floor.
The stairs to the first floor arrive at an upper verandah with wonderful views and which runs above the courtyard below. There is plenty of space for outdoor dining here. Two doors lead off from the verandah, one to the double-aspect sitting room with wood floor and marble fireplace, and the other door to the corridor. A kitchen with units and appliances, bedroom, WC, bathroom and second bedroom with French doors overlooking the courtyard lead off from here.
Bakeries, restaurants, bars, chocolate maker and shops are found a short walk away in the lower town, as well as supermarkets. There are local producers' markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays in Le Blanc. A bigger retail offer can be found at Montmorillon, Châteauroux and Poitiers, the latter offering TGV to Paris and the south, and flights to the UK.
The coast at La Rochelle is an easy drive (2' 20"). Other airports with national and international flights are at Limoges (50 mins) and Tours (1 hr 15).
