This is a lovely three bedroom house with two good sized reception rooms on the ground floor and a charming and extremely private courtyard with a useful barn behind. With two large bedrooms on the first floor and a wonderful attic which could be used as a gorgeous master bedroom with feature beams and lots of space, this house in great condition, with a recent roof and on mains drains, offers a lot for the money.

L’Isle Jourdain is a thriving market town on the River Vienne. The town has a good selection of shops, bars, restaurants and a supermarket. There is a municipal swimming pool and tennis courts. There are many footpaths which are popular with ramblers and the town is a good base for water-sports including fishing and canoeing, water skiing and wake-boarding, or even try bungee-jumping off the old railway viaduct which is a huge thrill.
The area is easily accessed via the international airports at Poitiers (55 km) or Limoges (76km) or by Eurostar and TGV from London to Poitiers. Read more ...

In more detail you come into the house directly into the charming kitchen (27m²) which has fitted wall units and a gorgeous Poitevine stone fireplace. Through a partially glazed door into the sitting room (19m²) which also has an old fireplace with a wood burning stove. Alongside these two rooms is a long hallway (13m²) which provides ideal storage space for boots, coats, bicycles etc. At the back of the hallway is the door to the little yard (about 20m²), ideal for sitting out and relaxing in the sunshine with no onerous gardening to worry about. At the far side of the courtyard is the barn (about 30m²) which is another good space.

On the first floor there is a charming reading space on the landing, and from there you come through a partially glazed door on to a further spacious and bright landing (approx. 9½m²) which gives on to the two bedrooms, one with two single beds (approx. 15m²) and another L-shaped room (approx.17½m²) which currently has a double bed in it. There is a lovely bathroom (8.6 m²) with a bath with a shower above it, a basin and loo. The first floor has the stunning original floor boards throughout.

Up again from the landing, a wide staircase leads to the attic (about 50m² to the walls, but that includes some limited headroom into the eaves) which is a truly beautiful space.
