This typical Béarnaise village house is on a south-west-facing hillside as you leave Louvie-Juzon. It overlooks the main village and has fabulous views of the Pyrénées to the south and west. THE LOCAL AREA

The nearby towns of Rébénacq, Sévignacq-Meyracq, Arudy and Nay are all easily accessible from Louvie-Juzon. All five towns have a good choice of supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Arudy has a market every Tuesday and Saturday morning and Sévignacq-Meyracq has an annual Christmas market in mid-December. For a much bigger choice of shops and amenities, the city of Pau is about 30 minutes away. There is also a university at Pau.

The area has many excellent schools and children are transported to school by bus if they go to school away from the village. There is also a regular bus to Pau which leaves from Gourette and passes through nearby Izeste, Arudy, Sévignacq-Meyracq and Rébénacq.

Louvie-Juzon, Rébénacq, Sévignacq-Meyracq and Arudy are all in the Vallée d’Ossau. The valley extends to the Spanish border, where you can ski at Gourette, or catch a small open train at Artouste to travel high into the mountains. The area is also known for its sheep’s cheese, Ossau-Iraty. The walking route GR10 is accessible at Gourette and it is possible to join the Chemin de St-Jacques-de-Compostelle at Arudy to join the main route at the Medieval market town of Oloron-Ste-Marie.
