The attractive Medieval town of Monein has a good choice of shops, bars and restaurants, along with a weekly market every Monday morning. The college-lycées in the is area are excellent and offer a range of studying options (some in English), as well as specialising in theatre, sports and even horse riding!

Monein is easily accessible from the airports in Pau, Biarritz and Tarbes-Lourdes. There are also railway stations at Pau, Oloron-St-Marie and Orthez.
