The Tarn-et-Garonne is a delightful and un-spoilt department of France, the area is beautiful, with landscapes of forests, undulating hills, rivers and wild flowers. It is also famed for its lovely towns and villages, and is a very popular tourist destination.

Espinas, which is the closest village to the property, is a tiny village in the Tarn-et-Garonne most notable for its nearby chateau, the Chateau de Cas. The Chateau de Cas dates back to the 13th century and has 14 furnished rooms including the bedrooms furnished in the style of Louis the 13th, 14th and 16th. There is a dungeon and a 10th century chapel. Outside there are formal French style gardens with 3 fountains and a charming pigeonnier.
In the villages of Saint Antonin Noble Val, Parisot and Caylus, all within 15 mins drive, there are a leisure lakes, campsites, restaurants, bars, bakeries, shops, doctors, pharmacies and beauty salons. Parisot also hosts an international literary festival and an arts festival every year.
The transport network is excellent, with easy access to motorways and rail travel. The area is also well located for the airports of Toulouse, Brive and Rodez; all within 1 to 2 hours’ drive.

Excellent shopping facilities are available in Cahors and Toulouse, with everyday shops, hospital, schools and services readily accessible in the nearby towns.

There are local markets in the nearby towns and villages, Limogne-en-Quercy, St. Antonin and Caylus, including, a large Thursday market in Villefranche de Rouergue, The Villefranche market is widely popular and is incredibly busy and vibrant.

In Villefranche de Rouergue there is a railway station, several large supermarkets, and lots of restaurants, shops and bars.
At certain times of the year there are occasional evening ‘producteurs’ markets in the surrounding towns and villages where food and wine can be bought and eaten at large trestle tables, accompanied by music and dancing; creating a lovely, welcoming, party atmosphere.
