If you are looking for a little property that you can just lock up and leave this one would be perfect. It only has one bedroom, although it is a big one but there is lots of room for a sofa-bed in the sitting room for occasional guests. It is in a charming hamlet and all the neighbours are very friendly and helpful.

From the front door you come into the open-plan sitting room, which has wonderful original tommette flooring, a Poitevine chimney piece with a wood-burning stove. In the corner of this room you have the kitchen cupboards and a fridge, and the sink is tucked in under the window in the hallway next to it. At the back of this hall is the bathroom which has a shower and loo and under the stairs is the hot water tank and storage space.

Upstairs it has a large bedroom with a high ceiling and two sets of double windows letting in lots of light. The ceiling has some historic damage, the repair of which would need to be taken on by the buyer. I have a quote for 600€ for making good.

The garden is not attached but is just a few steps from the house. It is nice and secluded with peaceful views over open countryside. There is a little garden shed, ideal for storing the garden furniture and bikes and a patio area where you could just sit and soak up the sun. There is plenty of room to put a pool up and enjoy a barbecue to get the benefit of the wonderful weather.

The larger town of Confolens which has numerous supermarkets, bars, restaurants and the like is approx 20kms.
The airports in Limoges and Poitiers both just over 60 km away.
