With its main entrance on a quiet cobbled street in the old village within walking distance to amenities, this house, built in 1860, has windows on both sides and a lightwell courtyard in the centre. The living areas are very spacious, and heated by woodburners. The property is full of charm, with natural stone, terracotta tiled and timber floors, stone arches, timber beams and old panelled doors. Read more ...

We enter the house by a spacious hall (13m²) with a Languedocienne fireplace, original terracotta tiles and a woodburner. Ancient panelled double doors lead to the rustic kitchen, which, with the dining area, measures almost 35m². A stone arch divides the spaces. There is a fireplace, timber beams and a glazed door to the 11.4m² courtyard, as well as a large south-facing window.

The stair hall also looks onto the courtyard, and has a separate lobby with access to the WC and basin. A rear lobby has glazed sliding doors to the rear entrance court, which has stone walls and a timber door.

The living room, accessed by this lobby, is double-height and almost 55m². It has a woodburner and large windows from the rear road and from the first floor terrace. A staircase leads up to the terrace via a landing and sliding glazed doors.

The terrace is 16m² with stone walls, and a view and staircase down to the courtyard.
From the landing there is a view into the rear entrance court, and a door to the first en suite bedroom, of 18.6m², with its mezzanine of 6.9m² and shower room of 6.7m².

This bedroom leads onto the main staircase landing, where old panelled doors lead to the second bedroom of 16.6m² with its bathroom of 8.4m², with corner bath and shower, and to the original tile and wood stair to the second floor bedroom 3 of 28m², with dressing/store of 4.7m² and bathroom of 8m² with bath and shower. Each bath/shower room has its own WC and heated towel rail.

There is electric heating to supplement the woodburners. The furniture is available for sale if required. Some windows are double-glazed, others single. The renovations were carried out in 2005/6, including a new roof.

The village has a general store, a good baker, a good café/bar/restaurant in the centre, a wine/tapas bar/restaurant, and a chateau hotel which also has a restaurant. It is 32 km from Carcassonne, 36 km from Carcassonne airport, 34 km from Narbonne, 50 km from Béziers, an hour from Béziers airport, 55 km from the sea, and 130 km (an hour and a half) from Spain.
