A large house currently laid out as two 2 bed apartments. There are also 2 large barns which could potentially be turned into further accommodation if required. Being in the Brenne National Park grants to aid some of the project are expected to be made available. This is one for the brave but the upside is pretty clear to see. Read more ...

Those of you that are still reading will hopefully be able to do the bulk of the work required themselves and soon realise that the current layout can relatively easily be reconfigured. The main property is now "L" shaped due to an extension that has been added. The extension has its own access to a 3 roomed apartment on the first floor but there is also an unused attic space that would allow for the addition of a further 35m2 of living space. The 3 rooms are currently 2 bedrooms and a kitchen/shower room, don't ask! On the ground floor there is a living room, a kitchen, 2 bedrooms a rather exposed wc/shower room (clearly this property isn't overlooked!) and a boiler room. Yes the property has an oil fired central heating system but it is clearly an antique, however there is a new boiler which will require fitting. Then we come to my favourite part, the large barn and old forge. This has around a 120m2 footprint, 2 floors and consists of an open sided barn, a workshop and the old forge and on the first floor the open sided, covered terrace, a couple of rooms and a large attic space. Crying out to be converted, it might even be easier to do than the house! After this there is a lawned area before you get to the next smaller barn and courtyard which has its own separate access. The properties could easily be split at one of two natural points and sit in a village/small town approximately 100km from Limoges international airport and 70km from Poitiers Airport and TGV station with Paris or Bordeaux taking around 1hr 30mins by train. Access to both the A10 and A20 motorways is only around 30 minutes. A fantastic opportunity to enjoy the wildlife and tranquility this region has to offer. Also close by are Angles sur l'Anglin nominated as one of France's "Beaux Villages", La Gabrière which sits on one of the lakes in the Brenne National Park and historic towns of the region such as St Savin which has a UNESCO world heritage site ancient romanesque abbey at its heart, Chauvigny, Montmorillon etc. Also within easy reach are the Loire Valley chateaux, La Haute Touche (the largest safari park in France!) and ZooParc de Beauval with its giant pandas classed in the top 15 zoos in the world!!! Whether you feel like exploring the wine growing areas of the Loire or the medieval villages of the area, such as , Loches where Joan of Arc met with the King of France or Amboise, the resting place of Leonardo da Vinci there are many things to see and do.
