Écueillé even has its own steam railway which is in the process of extension to reach Valençay (21km) with its shops, cafes, restaurants and the famous chateau. Zoo Parc Beauval is just 22km away – reputedly one of the top 15 zoos in the world due to its endangered species breeding programme. The famous Loire chateaux are also nearby – Chenonceux is perhaps a half-hour drive. Amboise a little more.
