Cameras have also revealed the presence of Beech martens (called fouine here in France), foxes, deer and the occasional badger. Currently the owners grow mainly roots such as carrots and potatoes, salads, brassicas, a limited amount of fruit and a wide variety of herbs. A number of salad crops are grown by the present owners with the admittedly ambitious aim of those who live here being able to pick wildand cultivated leaves for a salad on any day of the year. There is a summer house in the garden which has been used by the present owners for wildlifestudies, as a writing hut and even as a shady spot for the odd siesta.
