Paradiski is the second largest linked skiable domain in the world with 425km of pistes, two glaciers over 3000m high and 70% of the skiable domain higher than 2000m. I cover the Les Arcs area which includes Bourg-Saint-Maurice in the valley along with the ski resorts of Arc 1600, Arc 1800, Arc 1950, Arc 2000 and Villaroger; and the Peisey-Vallandry area which includes Landry in the valley, Plan Peisey, Peisey-Nancroix, Peisey Village and Vallandry. Although it is a world-renowned ski resort, you can get excellent value for money when purchasing property here, whether you are looking at a small studio as a first investment, a village house, or a luxury chalet to start your own business. It is also one of the few resorts that can be reached entirely by public transport, with no need for expensive transfers. The Eurostar stops in Landry and terminates in the vibrant valley town of Bourg-Saint-Maurice and the funicular will take you directly up to Arc 1600 in just 7 minutes. In addition to all the winter activities available, Les Arcs is a superb summer destination with walking, mountain bike trails, paragliding and even a golf course. In the valley you can find shops, a lovely cycle path alongside the river, white water rafting and some terrific destinations for a day out - the San Barnado pass is just 40 minutes away and takes you over the border into Italy where you can sample some of the best pizzas and icecream!
After many years of holidaying in the Tarentaise region, Olivier and I decided to make a permenant move last year. Having lived and bought houses in the UK and Belgium, we decided to turn our long-time dream into a reality by settling down in the French Alps. We love skiing and snowboarding so it was easy to leave our corporate IT jobs behind and start a new life in the mountains. We have always had an interest in home improvements and we spent 6 years renovating a farmhouse in Belgium, so it seemed a natural progression to start helping people find their dream homes and renovation projects. Of course we looked for our own house first, so now we can share our first-hand experience of the house-buying process in France. It can be a daunting task, buying a house in another country and another language, so we do everything possible to support our clients right from the first viewing through to collecting the keys. It's an advantage that Olivier is French, though I am told by the locals that my French accent is charming - I'm still trying to decide if that really means I need to work on it a bit more!
