My love for France dates back to my early professional life when I moved here, living and working in the French Alps. I remember how stunned I was then at the plethora of outdoor activities that the French love to partake in - cycling, hiking, climbing,… every weekend was an adventure. I never looked back and would have spent all my life here if I hadn’t been expatriated to Sweden after 20 years. Montpellier, the region’s capital, is a thriving hub offering all cultural activities one could wish for as well as being a major hub for education, health care and all administrative services. Beziers, Narbonne and Perpignan are smaller but nonetheless provide significant facilities. An excellent road network facilitates exploring the region, and the TGV allows fast and convenient travel to destinations such as Paris or Barcelona. Often perceived as the poor cousin of the famous Cote d’Azur, Languedoc Roussillon is fast becoming the place to be - great wine, great weather, beautiful landscapes, uncrowded beaches and a very welcoming local population.
