Welcome to my region, an area of natural beauty in the heart of the Gorges of Aveyron, with many hilltop villages, historic castles and village bastides dating back to the 12th century, reflecting the interesting history of south west of France. Contrasted with plenty of places to explore, rivers for swimming and kayaking, the area is ideal for country walks and cycling challenges with many good restaurants and bars, making this an ideal place for a holiday or permanent home. I have travelled extensively throughout France with family connections in Bordeaux and Toulouse and just love this region! As a business owner in property management and administrative services, with over 30 years’ experience in the non-profit and business community in the UK and USA, I thoroughly enjoy the slower pace of life here - renovating my property, walking with my dog in the wonderful countryside as well as socializing with friends. close
Welcome to my region, an area of natural beauty in the heart of the Gorges of Aveyron, with many hilltop villages, historic castles and village bastides dating back to the 12th century, reflecting the interesting history of south west of France. Contrasted with plenty of places to explore, rivers for swimming and kayaking, the area is ideal for country walks and cycling challenges with many good restaurants and bars, making this an ideal place for a holiday or permanent home. As a permanent home, life has a gentle pace with good weather most of the year. Locally grown fresh produce abounds in the weekly village marketplace where the community gather in local cafes and restaurants after shopping to catch up with friends. Local fetes and events continue through the summer season when the area springs to life with many visitors from all parts of the world. Some of the prettiest villages in France are within a 15 minute drive, and located in Najac, Laguepie, Varen, La Fouillade, St. Andre de Najac, Cordes sur Ciel and St. Antonin de Noble Val provide all you need with butchers, bakers, banks, post offices and small supermarkets, bars and restaurants. Larger retail and commercial suppliers are in Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Gaillac, Albi, Montauban and Rodez. Only a one hour 20 minute drive from the vibrant and cosmopolitan town of Toulouse - Skiing in the Pyrenees or going to the Mediterranean south coast are 4 hours’ drive from the area. The main airports of Toulouse and Rodez as well as direct trains to Toulouse make easy travel internationally and access to the main motorway A20 to Paris/Calais or the A62/A61 to Bordeaux or Spain are only 30 minutes away.
