Welcome to the region of endless lavender fields, azure coloured lakes and deep blue skies above valleys and hills where you will find fig trees, olive groves, thyme and basil. Here you’ll find a warm, Mediterranean climate and sunny weather as this is one of the sunniest regions in France. The area is known for its breath-taking nature and the unique Provençal stone houses and the popular so called “mas”, i.e. farm houses. The region is close to Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Nice and the Mediterranean Sea, yet close to ski slopes and the Italian border. UNESCO has categorized this area as a UNESCO Global Geopark of outstanding geological heritage, with the magnificent Gorges du Verdon, world-renowned plain of Valensole and famous lake of Sainte-Croix with perching villages on hilltops overlooking it. The region is also known for its weekly village markets where you’ll find home-made honey, olive oil and lavender products. The most famous markets are in Riez, Digne-les-Bains, Valensole, Sisteron or Forcalquier, to mention but a few. This beautiful and family-friendly area is still much affordable than down by the coast and French and international clients are leaving crowded cities to start their future lives and businesses here.
