We bought our holiday home here in the Loire Atlantique (44) in January 1998. We spent many happy holidays here exploring the countryside and coastline and in 2010 decided to move here permanently – a big step but no regrets. Over the years we have worked with excellent local tradesmen on renovation projects including our own, both English speaking and French – contacts and experiences we are happy to share with you. About my area

The Loire Atlantique (44) was once known as Southern Brittany. A region of true character and tradition. Inland timeless hamlets and villages offering beautiful countryside views. The Nantes Best Canal and La Grande-Brière nature reserve with their sleepy marshlands and thatched cottages. Ideal for bird watching, cycling, walking or riding.

Often described as some of the most scenic coastline in Western France, the Altantic coast offers golden beaches and also quiet rocky coves.

We have one of the best golf courses/health spars in Europe at Chateau La Breteche.

A popular Tourist destination with a climate warmer than Southern England.

The region has easy access from the UK with airports at Rennes and Nantes and further to the North ferry ports of St. Malo, Cherbourg and Caen.
