There are three protected areas in the commune:
- the Parc naturel régional du Haut Languedoc , created in 1973 and covering an area of 307,184 ha, which extends over 118 communes and two départements. Situated on either side of the watershed between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, this area is a veritable balcony overlooking the wine-growing plains of the Languedoc and the cereal-growing expanses of the Lauragais. The Tarn department is less than 10km away.
- Espinouse", a biological reserve covering 185.8 ha .
- The Caroux-Espinouse, a national hunting and wildlife reserve covering 1,693 hectares.
