About my area

The Périgord-Limousin Regional Natural Park forms the link between the green heart of France and the southern Mediterranean. Thanks to the influence of the marine climate and its clean air, at night the stars can still be seen all the way to the ground. There is no polluting industry in a vast area. Not only do the famous Limousin cattle and sheep graze in the pasture all year round, but also the pigs live outside. Pure nature ensures that it cools down well at night, even after the hot summer days. The landscape is characterized by vast chestnut forests with rich truffle fields, thousands of ponds and fortresses and castles that invite you to reflect on the rich European history of this region. Many equestrian centres offer horse riding opportunities and the famous stables of Madame de Pompadour are within walking distance, as well as various golf courses. Tennis, cycling and hiking are inviting (inexpensive) in the surrounding area. Water sports can be enjoyed on the nearby Vienne river (kayaking) as well as on the lakes around the lake of St. Pardoux (sailing, surfing, water-skiing) or simply by bike to the swimming lake in the nearby village of Flavignac. The region has a long mystical tradition, and many stories of healers, dwarves and magicians are passed on in the many markets, often in the langue d'oc. The French cuisine here shows itself at its best, especially thanks to the freshness of the products. Wild animal meat, fish, mushrooms are a rare delicacy today. The population is abundant. Originally from Germany, I moved to Perigord in 1988. Trained by an agent with 25 years of real estate experience in this magnificent area, I quickly added property trading to my activity. My passion for the restoration and fitting out of these properties has enabled me to become familiar with the different techniques of working with old properties and to build up a network of skills in this field. Thanks to this experience and my language skills (French/German/English), I am able to advise you in your purchase/sale procedures and to accompany you in the realisation of your projects, ensuring a quality link between the people involved (customer/architect/craftsmen...).
