My area encompasses the départements of the Morbihan, Loire-Atlantique, and the Southern tip of Ille et Vilaine. The ‘cité de caractère’ of La Roche Bernard is at the heart of the area I cover. The rugged Atlantic coast offers fine beaches, both tourist hotspots and secluded bays. Inland, there are sleepy villages, and bustling market towns. This is the sunny side of Brittany, where we enjoy a warm micro-climate. Brittany is not just a French holiday destination, but an area steeped in tradition, that has its own culture and language, both with Celtic roots. Despite the political boundaries, residents of Loire-Atlantique consider themselves to be Breton.
I moved to the South coast of Brittany, with my partner Tom, in June 2005, having spent many happy holidays in the area. Our lives are now very different.I previously worked as Head of Languages in a West Yorkshire comprehensive. Instead, we now run a property management and interpreting company, ALO. A large number of my Leggett customers have gone on to become customers of our other business, secure in the knowledge, that they will continue to have an after sales service, be that someone to make a tricky phone call in French, assistance locating and liaising with local French artisans, or someone they know and can rely on to do property checks.
Our daughter, Ella, was born here in August 2008, and our son, Jules, in 2011. The healthcare and childcare is second to none, which combined with a stunning location, a cheaper lifestyle, and unpolluted fresh air has convinced us our move here was a wise one. We now feel very much integrated as a family, and haven’t regretted our move here one bit. I look forward to helping you find the right property, and hopefully your piece of paradise too.
