Jarnages is a historic little market town in central Creuse, around 20 minutes by car from Guéret. The 400+ inhabitants of the commune benefit from local amenities including a baker and butcher, and a popular cafe restaurant. There's a medical centre, a primary school, an active village hall, a library, lots of clubs, a potato festival at the end of the summer, and swimming lakes, golf, cycling and fishing are all nearby. This granite house, built between 1850 and 1900, is spacious, light and retains some of its original features like the oak staircases and some oak floors.
The garden to the rear is private and has gated access for a car, and a separate double garage with storage space above. A traditional meat-smoking kiln makes a nice feature and there are a couple of small outbuidlings. There's a nice view over to the church and the fields beyond.
The house has just been re-insulated and a new air-source heat pump has been fitted. A thermodynamic (air-source) water heater has also been fitted, rendering the property a DPE B. There is double glazing throughout. The house has a fibre internet connection.
