LOCAL ENVIRONMENT

Payzac, 4km away, is a lively village, situated in the Dordogne, on the edge of the Corrèze and Haute Vienne. In the village there are a supermarket, bar, bakers, pharmacy, bank, etc. The area is a tourist hub, with beautiful rolling countryside, rivers, orchards, close to L’Auvzère river and the associated Gorges, where you are spoilt for choice for hiking and outdoor activities, and easy access to main towns such as Périgueux and Brive.

Just 15 minutes by car is a fantastic leisure lake, ideal for walking, water sports, fishing, swimming or just relaxing on the beach, with a great restaurant overlooking the lake.

St. Yrieix la Perche, 12km, is a lively market town and has an excellent range of shops, bars and restaurants, train station, modern hospital, schools and colleges and sports centre. There's also a weekly market and many events during the summer months.

Pompadour, home to the French National Stud is 18kms away, has many events throughout the year, including horse racing and various shows. And Ségur le Château, a riverside village, rated as one of the most beautiful villages in France, is only 12km away, renowned for its summer night markets.
