The cottage is situated in the historic village of Saint-Pierre-sur-Orthe, on the border of the Sarthe and the Mayenne départements, south of the Massif des Coëvrons. The village is 7 minutes drive northwest of Sillé-le-Guillaume with its high speed train service to Paris and beyond, 13 km southeast of Bais,18 km northeast of Évron and 19 km south of Villaines-la-Juhel.
It is located at an altitude between 122 and 301 m and naturally hosts springs that are exploited for the supply of drinking water to the surrounding communes.
The forest of Sillé, higher in altitude, forms a natural border between Saint-Pierre and the Sarthe (Col de la Galerie). The Bois de Clairet also occupies a height on Saint-Pierre. The area offers those interested in outdoor pursuits a host of opportunities to enjoy their interests to the maximum.
Easily accessible are the ports of Le Havre under 2.5 hrs and Dieppe under 3 hrs and the port of Calais.
