THE LOCAL AREA

The towns of Nay and Asson are easily accessible from the village. They have a good choice of supermarkets, restaurants and bars, as well as weekly farmers’ markets. For a much bigger choice of shops and amenities, the city of Pau is about 20 minutes away.

The area has many excellent schools in the area, including an International School (UK curriculum) in Pau. There is a train station in Coarraze and regular buses to Pau from Nay and the surrounding villages.

The property is located in the foothills of the Pyrénées as they become the Vallée d’Ousse. The Vallée d’Ousse extends all the way up to the Spanish border in the Pyrénées, where you can ski at Val d’Azun and Gourette. You can also catch a small open train at Artouste to travel high up into the mountains. The GR10 is accessible at Gourette and it is possible to join the Chemin de St-Jacques-de-Compostelle at Arudy to follow the main route from the Medieval market town of Oloron-Ste-Marie.
