The picturesque old village of Spéracédes lies on a hillside, oriented due south, standing proudly in the midst of the superb Mediterranean environment, olive trees and cypresses. House fronts with pastel colours and lavender or emerald coloured shutters, old stone and shady gardens: the village is delightful, exuding complete tranquillity and pure air, far from all the urban commotion and nevertheless very close to the town of Grasse.
The village has a nice restaurant with a friendly bar with fantastic views from the terrace, a boulangerie, a couple of little shops, a children's playground and a school. The supermarket is a couple of minutes drive away and there are more shops in nearby Peymeinade, and some nice restaurants in Cabris, 2 km. Grasse, (la capitale mondiale des parfums), only 8 km, is a larger town with a good choice of shops and supermarkets. The coast is about 20 km with the nearest sandy beaches at Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Cannes and Antibes. In the other direction, the beaches at Fréjus, Les Issambres and St Raphael are a 45 minute drive. The Lac de Saint Cassien, which is excellent for water sports, is about 8k and there are many attractive perched villages nearby such as Cabris, Montauroux and Fayence. The International school of Fenelon is 9km and Sophia and other International schools are about 25 km. Nice airport is about 40 km.
