It has a relaxed atmosphere, which is perfect not only for families and beginners but also for those who are looking for untracked, powdery slopes with loads of room to let their hair down. On a white out day there are some lovely little restaurants with open fireplaces serving hearty tartiflettes and a toasty vin chauds. Pefect.

In the summer, this is one of the top spots for walks and hikes and also the best paragliding and hangliding in the area.

Just 40 minutes down the road are the larger ski areas of the Grand Massif and Portes du Soleil.

Sommand is accessed by the town of Mieussy a short 45 minutes drive from Geneva.
