Les Allues is a charming, typically Savoyard village with an all year round community which provides quick and easy access to skiing in Meribel during the winter season and a base for walkers, climbers and those who enjoy all manner of outdoor pursuits in the summer. It is well served by 6 restaurants and bars, each with their own atmosphere and plenty of entertainment for all tastes. Situated in the Meribel Valley, the village offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
During the season, a free resort bus service runs every 15-25 minutes during peak times and hourly off peak, the last bus to resort is at 11.20pm while the last bus back to the village is at 0.30am. This is a very practical option for those who prefer to avoid driving in winter conditions or for families with independent teenagers who wish to stay in resort later in the evening.
The nearest SNCF train station is in Moutiers, just 11km away, which is also the destination for the Snow Train which runs from London during the winter season.
There is also an altiport in the commune, situated above the Meribel resort which can accommodate small aircraft and helicopters.
The commune is also served by the the ‘Olympe’ Telecabine (cable-car) which runs from Brides-Les-Bains to the centre of the Meribel resort.
