Heather Byrne Independent Agent, says :
This stone chateau with twin turrets is the ideal place to enjoy the quintessential French lifestyle. A place to relax and take in the spectacular views of the Alps, Mont Blanc and the iridescent glow of the setting sun while enjoying aperitifs on the terrace. There is plenty of room outside to relax and exploring the ground and three outbuildings to develop each with its own character and potential.

The chateau offers a warm and intimate feel whilst still having the presence that you’d expect from a property of this size and stature. Drive in through the stone walls onto the private grounds with parking directly at the door and you instantly feel removed from the pace of life outside the chateau walls. With its own water source, private grounds and views across to the mountains this is an interesting and worthy setting for this wonderful chateau.
Built in 1034 it has been lovingly restored to its former glory and has also been lovingly improved completely in keeping with the feel and traditions of its era.
Its location is convenient with Geneva airport 109 km away which takes approximately 1hr 12, then Lyon and Grenoble airport also about 1hr15 away. The local airport at Chambery Aix les Bains is 40 km which is approximately 30 minutes by car. There is also a TGV stop 30 mins away and the motorway passes within 1km of the chateau so access is easy and fast.
Locally you can explore local bakeries, cheese shops, and open-air markets that typify French living. Excellent shopping and restaurant opportunities can be found in the surrounding towns and villages.
The interior of the chateau has been lovingly restored, creating warmth and welcome alongside the grandeur of the place, and as you walk through the old entrance and into the impressive stone corridors you start to get a real feel of what this beautiful building is all about.

Individual double-heating systems combined with ceiling fans maintain a level of constant comfort throughout the year. Each bathroom is also individually designed and each room offers its own interest and charm.
Caves.
A wonderful and remarkable cave system lies under the chateau with its own entrance from the grounds. These caves have been painstakingly brought into the 21st century whilst retaining a real feel of age and timelessness. They are currently used to host functions creating a memorable setting for weddings, and special occasions and there are, of couse, wine caves as well.
Outbuildings.
Lower Stables.
Wonderful beamed building towards the bottom of the grounds and near the stream and dipping pond. Would make a fantastic setting for a treatment room, or a libary or a ..... well there are a lot of options.
Upper stables.
Huge building with built in atmosphere in its wonderful beams and high ceiling. This could be converted to further accommodation, a guest house or a gym and wellness centre – again so many options available.
Water building.
Here the water rushes into the grounds and is treated fit for consumption and use. What isn’t gathered continues under the chateau developing into a waterfall that rushes out from under the chateau and continues across the grounds as a vey pretty stream. It has been widened in one part and is use to swim in the summer. Incredibly pretty.
