In order to make best use of this extremely sunny spot and the spectacular views this village location commands, the architect has designed in plenty of outside spaces in the form of balconies and terraces and importantly has allowed the views to come in to the chalet via large windows which are a feature of the chalet. Noticeably on the top floor, you have double doors or full sized window on all sides to access the amazing scenery and the three generous balconies. Wherever the sun is you can sit in it!
The location of the chalets is a small, charming mountain village 1km from the ski lift in St Martin de Belleville. You can ski back to the village off the back of the Olympic chair lift to within a few paces from the chalet. The off-piste runs over summer grazing pastures back to the village are renowned for great powder turns due to their great pitch. The free ski bus stops close by. It’s easy enough to walk to into St Martin in normal shoes or snowboarding boots but not really for those in ski boots.
This light, spacious and well designed chalet starts with an entrance hall with ski locker which open out into a small hall on the ground floor; from this you have two double bedrooms both with their own terraces, one has a full bath, wc and basin the other an Italian style shower room including wc and basin.
Moving up to the first floor there are two more double rooms, both with full ensuite bathrooms with baths, basins and WC’s and their own good sized balconies and in addition a separate WC.
On the top floor, optimising the panoramic views and the sun, is the main living area. Whilst the floor is open plan it has been designed so that the fully equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area feel slightly separate to the main lounge area. The dining table sits next to huge windows and a balcony to give the feeling of exterior dining, without any of the inconvenience.
The lounge with open fireplace, opens up onto a large balcony with room for el fresco dining where you can sit in a comfy sofa and simply enjoy the magnificent views over the vallées des Encombres and beyond. In addition you have a large dormer window that opens out towards Le Cochet the “local’s mountain” which is lit up at night during the winter season.
Everything is finished to a very high standard in fact meeting the standards for 2012 as far as energy efficiency goes and is fitted with photovoltaic panels which use sunlight to generate the electricity for the underfloor heating and power. In the summer when the demand for electricity is low, the excess electricity generated by the system can be sold to the National Grid. In winter when demand is high, the photovotaic system is topped up with electricity supplied by the National Grid. A solar hot water system uses the heat of the sun to provide the chalets’ hot water requirements. A secondary water tank is installed to ensure constant supply of hot water on cloudy days.
In addition you can be part of the final choice of finishing, the pictures attached of interiors are example of work the architect has previously been involved with.

Getting here is easy with Geneva Airport, Lyon and Grenoble airport all about 2 hours away and Chambery airport just 1hr30. In addition just 20 mins drive away is a TGV stop in Moutiers which comes directly from London.
