David Cowx Independent Agent, says :
This very pretty 2 bedroom house has been lowered in price and is an ideal ski and summer base providing a great alternative to a typical ski apartment
Located in a small hamlet, Le Chene, just above the charming village of Landry, this is an ideal “lock up and leave” holiday home. With two bedrooms, cosy lounge and small outdoor terrace it would make a perfect home in the mountains for a family. The village of Landry is only a couple of minutes away by car whilst the ski areas of Peisey-Vallandry, Les Arcs and La Plagne are only a short drive away. A peaceful location well away from the hustle and bustle of the major resorts with world class skiing almost on the doorstep. The nice little terrace to the rear of the house is an ideal sit out and barbecue spot and gets afternoon and evening sunshine.
A very pretty house with plenty of charm.
The accommodation is over 3 levels with a cave/cellar, for storage, underneath the kitchen.
Entering the house on the ground floor you are in a cosy kitchen with tiled floor and wooden units. There is sufficient space for a dining table whilst the equipment includes a gas hob and electric oven. A trapdoor opens to reveal wooden stairs down into the cave/cellar.
Walking through the kitchen there is a lobby area ,with a fridge freezer, leading to a separate WC and a spacious bathroom with shower and heated towel rail. The bathroom has been nicely tiled and gives modern convenience in a character house.
Stairs lead from the kitchen up to the lounge and a bedroom on the first floor. The lounge is a nice place to sit and relax with a fireplace and wood-burning stove for those winter evenings. There is a telephone point, NB currently not connected, and the house can get UK TV. The bedroom is a good-sized double bedroom/family room currently with a single bed and a set of bunk beds.
From the lounge another staircase leads up to a further double bedroom., wooden beams and some interesting wood panelling/cupboards make this a lovely room.
The whole feel of this house is cosy and comfortable with tiled floors, terracotta walls and some interesting features.
Outside ,to the rear of the house, the small terrace is ideal for a table and chairs and the barbecue.
The village of Landry is just a couple of minutes away by car. It offers a handy local shop, post office, a couple of, very French, hotels/bars and a campsite as well as being home to H20 rafting The village has a school and, as such, is a place where people live as well as holiday Landry has its own train station with the TGV as well as local services stopping there. In season a Navette—free local bus—runs to the funicular railway at Bourg St Maurice and to Peisey-Vallandry.
For skiing it is only 10-15 minutes to the villages of Peisey, Plan Peisey and Vallandry whose sheltered tree lined slopes are part of the Les Arcs ski area. The Vanoise Express cable car links Plan Peisey to the La Plagne ski area.. In total the Les Arcs, La Plagne, Paradiski ski area offers an incredible 425 km of slopes.
Alternatively it is only a similar drive to the villages of Montchavin-Les Coches to access La Plagne or to Bourg St Maurice with its funicular railway link to Arc 1600.
In summer some fantastic walking, cycling and mountain biking is on offer as well as canoeing, rafting, horse riding and parapenting.
All in all, a great little house with all year round holiday potential.
