David Cowx Independent Agent, says :
First things first, this is my own barn next door to our family home; have a look at Reference 10802DC73 to see the two of them for sale together.
The barn footprint is a little under 5 metres by 5 metres and is on 3 levels so developing the current footprint would allow one to develop approx 70 sq. m of space with the possibility to extend the footprint. For example, one idea might be to extend the lower, below ground level whilst keeping the above ground on the same footprint. There is land to be sold with the barn; the exact division of the land and decisions over rights of way have yet to be decided so things are up for discussion. As yet there is no planning permission for the barn but initial enquiries have indicated that this should not be a major problem. All things are to be discussed and formally decided before the signing of any compromis de vente. There are some lovely old timbers that would make very attractive features in a restored/newly-developed property. For somebody out there this is a great opportunity to develop a character barn.
A GREAT BARN IN A VILLAGE LOCATION AND LESS THAN 15 MINUTES TO LA PLAGNE SKI LIFTS. POSSIBLE 2 BEDROOM CHALET.
Macot-La Plagne (800m) is a lovely village at the foot of the road up to La Plagne. The 6-man La Roche chairlift at 1600m and the lovely villages of Montchavin and Montalbert that link into high altitude La Plagne are all approx. 15 minutes drive away.
Macot is a thriving village with a local junior school, well-stocked shop, pizza restaurant, a couple of (very French) bars and a boulangerie. There are several British families that have settled in the village but essentially it remains very French.
As a ski resort La Plagne has something for everybody with some 225 km. of slopes; there is some great cruising through the trees above Montalbert and Montchavin, wide open pistes, steep and deep off piste off the Bellecote glacier and terrain parks for the boarders amongst you. Of course the incredible Vanoise Express cable car link to Peisey Vallandry/Les Arcs adds another 200 km. of slopes. In total the joint Paradiski area offers an amazing 425km of slopes and is one of the world’s great ski areas.
Please note; when snow conditions are good it is possible to ski, off piste, all the way down to Macot.
