About my area

The Vendée, as soon as you come to this department, you see how nice it is here. With a microclimate and only 600,000 inhabitants on some 6,700 km2, it is a sea of space, healthy space. Just below the city of Nantes, where the Loire River flows into the Atlantic Ocean, the 250 km-long coast of the Vendée begins, with sandy beaches, 1,800 km of cycle paths, surf spots, two special islands, fashionable seaside resorts and fishing ports. The Vendée also has a beautiful hinterland, with endless green countryside, forests, lakes and castles. The two islands are just off the coast. The ‘île de Noirmoutier’ is the more ‘trendy’ island, with its white beach huts on ‘la Plage des Dames’, pretty houses and oyster farms. The ‘île d’Yeu’ can only be reached by boat and is a lot more rugged. You can enjoy cycling along the cliffs and go swimming in the small bays.

About me

I moved from the Netherlands to the Vendée with my family in 2000. We settled in Les Sables d'Olonne, a beautiful seaside resort with a magnificent hinterland. Since then, we've enjoyed renovating several houses, which has enabled us to live in different villages along the beautiful coast. We currently live in Poiroux, at 10 minutes from the Atlantic coast. I know this coast well and it's wonderful to be able to work here as an agent for Leggett Immobilier International.
