The Drôme Provençale and Northern Vaucluse are simply captivating: stunning landscapes, beautiful medieval villages and towns, endless vineyards and plentiful olive trees – in short, the unique charm of life in this wonderful part of the world. While the Drôme Provençale and Northern Vaucluse are known for their Mediterranean sunshine and great climate, they’re also historically fascinating - the Greeks and Romans knew this part of France well and left many traces of their culture. Those who love the area come back time after time to discover an authentic region of France : unspoilt nature and a wide range of activities from skiing in the Savoie to wine-tastings and amazing castles. The summit of Mont Ventoux (1911m) dominates the region - well known by visitors who like to walk or cycle, and the provençal markets and restaurants of Nyons, Buis- les-Baronnies, Vaison-la-Romaine attract visitors from all over the world, offering locally sourced farm produce including Côtes du Rhône wines, truffles, olives, olive oil and lavender. The region also enjoys wonderful cultural events and festivals, like theatre, dance, music and opera, and there are many ways to get here: either by train (TGV stations in Avignon and Montélimar) by car (motorways A7 and A9) or by plane via Marseille, Nîmes – as well as Geneva and Lyon.

Being from Dutch origin, I settled in the Provençal sunshine in 2005, to live in the Drôme Provençale.
