COVID-19: LEGGETT OPEN FOR BUSINESS
6th May 2020
Whilst all of our shops may be closed, and staff working from home, we would like to reassure you that we are very much open for business during this difficult time. From next week, property viewings (under certain restrictions) will be possible. As always, our focus is on keeping staff, agents and clients healthy & safe so we have put together the following property viewing guidelines.
For our sellers
Leggett Immobilier helped pioneer e-mandates and e-avenants in France. We are used to working remotely with both buyers & Notaires, who are able to offer signature by “proxy”.
This is a good time to make sure that all of your paperwork is complete and in order, do you have everything ready if we find a buyer for you? If you have any questions on what this entails, then you should speak with your local agent.
If you currently have a sale going through, then don’t hesitate to contact your local agent for an update. Please rest assured that we are doing our utmost to ensure it progresses smoothly. Rules about accepting scanned “signature by proxy” documentation by email differ between Notaire’s and your local agent will be able to advise on the current status of your sale.
Our sales support team are still taking enquiries from both domestic and international buyers and our agents are still giving virtual tours. If you are thinking of selling your property then speak with our team today to see how they can help you.
For our buyers
We are able to offer property visits under certain circumstances from next week, and for clients who are still unable to physically visit properties we continue offer a mix of videos, virtual tours and floor plans. Our agents will be happy to speak with you by telephone or video conference. Don’t forget that you can register your interest in a property with us and we will contact you as soon as we are allowed to undertake property viewings again. We do have some vendors too willing to do facetime or skype visits with you online.
If you have a purchase going through then it is possible to give a ”power of attorney” - you don’t need to be physically present at either exchange or completion, but individual Notaire’s have different interpretations of what is currently acceptable. Please rest assured that our team are doing their utmost to ensure the purchase progresses smoothly. Your agent will be able to tell you the current status of your purchase.
As you can see, we are very much open for business and working hard to offer the highest service levels to all clients. We will update this page regularly. We wish you all the very best of health and please stay safe - from all the team at Leggett.
