One part of the house has been modernised through renovation whilst the other part has been restored to its previous glory with all the old features still in place.
The building is completely insulated, has double glazing and is centrally heated by wood pellets fed automatically into the main burner from a large pellet store in the adjacent building.
 
There are 3 annexes:

A large Barn with parking facilities for 6 cars and a vaulted cellar.
The old stables can still be made useful.

An “Horticultural Workshop” with a large glass wall. This annex might also easily serve as an artists workshop, a music room or any other type of work shop. There is a second small vaulted cellar underneath this Atelier.

The little rural village of Barges where this Manor is located is 8 minutes / 8 km outside Jussey where all amenities are available.
Travel distance from Luxembourg is just under 3 hours and Calais and the Chunnel is only 5 hours away. Basel-Mulhouse International airport with daily flights to the U.K. is just under 2 hours drive away.
The property is just 40 km off the A31, the main highway to the west to Calais or north-south to Luxemburg or Lyon

The “Haute Saone”, part of France-Comté, colloquially known as ‘Le Grand Est Oublié’ has now become “The New Place” to be !
And not without good reason! Not only has it, seemingly, been forgotten by Paris but it’s never top of the list for the millions of tourists who flock to the French beaches, the Alps or other popular parts of the country, during their holidays. Over the last 10 - 20 years the local climate has become more Mediterranean but without the Mistral and the oppressive heat more and more common on the Côte D’Azur or the Atlantic. From a traveller’s perspective we are a reasonable 5 hour drive from Calais, 3 from Luxembourg and just 4 1/2 hours from Frankfurt, with Basel (2 hours) our nearest international airport with daily flights to the UK. Les Vosges, the Jura and the Alsace are no more than a 1 hrs drive and Dijon, very much the gastronomic capital of France, is just over an hour away. If you love farm lands and country side, rolling hills and a great deal of culture and history then I really recommend the Haute Saone. It’s very much possible that you’ll fall in love with this stunning and forgotten little piece of France.
