Situated in a dominant position, the original property was built in 1530 by the aristocratic family “de Tasque” who were in favour with the royal court of Louis XIV and Louis XVI. During the French Revolution, the family emigrated to escape the war. In the early 20th century, the family GROLEAU started wine production on the site.
Since 1996 major renovation to the chateau has taken place, making it one of the most beautiful in the Bordeaux region. Over 3 years French master craftsmen worked to restore the Castle to "state of the art" standards.
The whole building and its infrastructure was rebuilt to meet current French norms and standards.
All the decors, drapes silk walls were manufactured by the silk factories of the city of Lyon who already worked for the Royal court of Louis XVI.
