The house was built in 1669, and its sitting room features an old stone sink, as well as a wood-burning insert, terracotta floor tiles and exposed timber beams. Next to this is the kitchen/dining room, again with exposed beams and a storeroom housing the washing machine and hot water heater.
A timber staircase leads to the first floor, where there is parquet flooring. The first bedroom looks out onto the loggia or covered terrace, which has large sliding windows which can be completely taken out to give an open outside space. It has an exposed timber roof truss.
There is a cupboard and an electric heater in each of the three bedrooms.
The second bedroom is a double, and opens onto the loggia, and the third bedroom also has a double bed.
There is an attractive tiled shower room and a separate WC. The landing has a new Velux roof light so is light and bright.
St Jean de Minervois has a restaurant, and a new bistro will be opening just down the road soon. The local baker comes round regularly, the butcher/charcutier every Tuesday. It is 8 km from amenities at Aigues Vives, 12.6 km from St Chinian with its twice-weekly markets, 18 km from Olonzac, 33 km from Narbonne, 43 km from Béziers, 50 km from the sea, 59 km from Carcassonne and 126 km from Spain (an hour and a half).
