About 10 minutes from the house we find the town of Chalus which has an excellent range of shops, bars and restaurants, including a large modern supermarket. Chalus has an unspoiled traditional town centre with the remains of two medieval castles. Both towns are also part of the Perigord-Limousin Regional National Park which has many places of interest and beautiful countryside.
