This house sits at the entrance to the small hamlet of La Combe and presents a great opportunity to buy a lower-cost property to then renovate to your tastes. Laid out over 3 floors, plus some space in the attic under the roof, there is the possibility to create 4 spacious bedrooms and the ski lifts of the 3 Valleys are around 10-15 minutes' drive up the hill at St Martin. The hamlet is seeing a fair amount of interest at the moment with both renovation projects and new-build properties having been recently completed. Read more ...

Parking in the communal spaces just next to the property, you then enter into what is currently the kitchen area of the house with its view out onto the greenery of the village. This leads up into one of the larger rooms of the property, formerly the living room, but this could easily be set up as a bedroom and has a WC enclosed in one corner. This room has views out to the west.

This configuration is mirrored across the 3 floors with the smaller room (around 18sqm)to the south and the larger room (around 25sqm) to the north, with a couple of steps up between the two. This means that you could decide upon a configuration that suits you in regards to bedrooms, bathrooms etc and whether to move the living area up to the top of the house as we often see in renovations in the region.

Up at the top of the house underneath the roof, there is an attic area (c.17sqm) for storage, and beneath the kitchen there is also a small cellar area that could be used potentially as a small pantry.

La Combe is small but increasingly popular, with a number of the barns in the village undergoing renovations and also one or two new constructions being undertaken. The village is in the process of being put onto the mains drainage system (completion in spring 2022), and the town hall is also creating a large parking area at the bottom of the village at the same time - signs that the area is increasing in prestige. It is an oasis of calm, within easy striking distance of the hustle and bustle of resort just up the hill.

Another major positive to living in this authentic village is the relative proximity to Moutiers down the hill, which is around a 20-minute drive (15km) and this is where the large supermarkets, hardware stores, organic shops and Eurostar terminal can be found, and where affordable fuel can be bought.
