Jumilhac le Grand has an attractive town square in front of the imposing and attractive chateau, where one can watch the impressive fountain. A Sunday market is held here during the summer as well as two big vide greniers and a plant fair, and there are several hobby clubs who organise many other activities and exhibitions, held in the village - you can even take French lessons in the village. The village boasts a baker, butcher, grocer, hairdresser, pharmacy, post office, bank, bar, restaurant, village hall, primary school and a medical centre with doctor and dentist. Schools for older children are at La Coquille (12 km) and St. Yrieix la Perche (12 km).
La Coquille has a supermarket, shops, bank and a train station. A train can be taken from St. Yrieix la Perche or La Coquille to Limoges, and then on to Paris or Bordeaux for example.
