In lovely countryside in La Montagne Noire, this property is suitable for nature lovers, walkers and people who appreciate tranquillity! A planning application was made and accepted in 1987/8 for a house of 160m² habitable area. Read more ...
The 84m² land nearby has a small wooden cabin on it and is fairly flat. It is accessible from the access track to the ruin, which is part of the hamlet and has a house attached to it on one side and a small barn on the other.
There is mains drainage in the hamlet. There is no local plan, the hamlet is subject to the RNU (Règlement nationale d'urbanisme), which means that construction is only allowed in existing built-up areas. Perhaps an essential agricultural building, or one incompatible with the built-up zone would be considered on the land outside the hamlet.
The 6055m² land half a km away is accessible from a quiet road at the top, and across the lovely romantic brook at the bottom. It is really quite steep!
The nearest shop is in Riols, where there is a very good bakery. From Riols it is 4 km to St Pons de Thomières, where there are markets twice weekly (Wednesday and Sunday), restaurants, café/bars, and shops, a museum, a hospital, schools etc., plus buses to Béziers, Bédarieux, Mazamet and Montpellier.
From the hamlet you are 62 km from Narbonne, 71 km from the Med, 55 km from Béziers, 70 km from Carcassonne (both these towns have airports), 42 km from Mazamet and 160 km (2 hours) from Spain.
