The water is heated by solar panels, with electricity as a top up and there is a fireplace in the living room. In places there are exposed stone walls showing the houses origins, and further walls could be revealed [and more space created] be removing the plaster board walls
Outside is a very private courtyard garden for ‘al fresco’ dining, with a fabulous salt water pool. The separate 2 storey garage could be converted to additional living space, being large enough to create a studio apartment. The upper floor has new flooring, and electricity, water and new windows are all in situ.
The village amenities include: a restaurant, epicerie, post office and kindergarten school, which takes children from partner villages. The older children attend primary school in La Reunion and middle school in Leyritz Moncassin. The college is in Casteljaloux. Village life includes lots of celebrations: one weekend in June is the village festival held in the local stadium and there is a Fox fete around Hallowe’en.
The closest town is Casteljaloux, which has restaurants, shops and large supermarkets, a well known thermal spa, golf course and the Lac de Clarens with its sandy beach and water sports. Access to the motorway at Aiguillon [8km] or Marmande [20km] means that Bordeaux can be reached in about 75 mins and Agen in about 35 mins
