You enter through the kitchen which leads through to the living-room, both with original floor tiling. The kitchen is fitted with modern units and is light and airy, painted white, with a central island/bar. The living-room is very cosy with terracotta tiles and visible beams and a woodburner. There is a door leading outside to the garden here.
Then you have a separate dining-room and corridor leading to shower-room and separate toilet. And the south-facing conservatory which opens out onto the decked terrace and pool.
FIRST FLOOR :
Two large double bedrooms with original parquet flooring and one smaller one with fitted cupboards. A very spacious bathroom and toilet.
Gas central-heating and double-glazing throughout.
GROUNDS :
In front of the house, you have a large driveway with room for 2/3 cars and a double garage. Wine cellar.
The terrace around the pool is wooden decking and there are steps leading down to the rest of the garden. There are 4000m² of land, about half fields, and half woodland. Part of the land has building permission.
LOCATION :
The village of Morlanne is steeped in history and may even date back to the Neolithic era ! What’s sure is that was a Roman settlement there, probably because of its strategic elevated position, where there is now the castle with its moat, which dates back to the 11th-century. From this point there is an amazing vista over the béarnaise countryside with the Pyrenees rising up in the background. There is also a church dating from the 13th-century and an abbey from the 14th-century. It is really a very pretty village ; all the stone houses are immaculately maintained. There is a thriving arts scene – there are regular exhibitions and festivals, and also all amenities such as schools, crèche, café, restaurants, bakery etc. There are supermarkets in the slightly bigger towns nearby. And all this a stone’s throw from Pau,Tarbes, Lourdes, with the Atlantic coast, Pyrenean ski resorts and Spain only an hour and a half drive away.
